Saturday, July 3: we watched the quarterfinal match in a Deli/Bar/Butcher shop. Yes, those are giant hunks of meat hanging on the wall!

Funny short story: these guys called us out -- they accused us of being Germans. I guess the fact that we are tall, pale, blondish hair, and weren't wearing red, made us stand out!

But, we told them we were from the United States, so they started chanting USA! USA! USA! And then they asked which state, which brought on O-HI-O! O-HI-O! (you had to be there.) And yes, they were likely quite drunk.

Monday, July 12: (7 pm) celebratory parade! This is only a 2 minute walk from our apartment.
